 The length of Dakatiya river is 206 km. This river flows through Comilla, Chandpur and Laxmipur districts of Bangladesh. The river originates from the Tripura Hills of India and joins the Meghna River via Comilla-Laksam Chandpur. Which extends to Hajimara in Laxmipur. The Dakatiya River joins the Gumti of Comilla from Chandpur at latitude 230.20 and longitude 910.31. Which flows from left to south and joins the Feni River. The Dakatiya river flows through Faridganj upazila of Rupsha (17) union. The Dakatiya River connects Chandpur and Naiyakhali with Faridganj Upazila of Rupsha (South) Union No. 18. The Dakatia River has benefited agriculture, fisheries, etc. of Rupsha (17) Union. Rows of trees on the banks of the Dakatiya River add to the beauty. At one time goods were transported on this river to different parts of the country including Barisal, Bhola, Sharipur, Faridpur, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Narsingdi.
